From disembodied shadows to strange noises and fluctuating temperatures, there is no doubt that Barkeater Chocolates is haunted!
Go all-in with a Haunted Factory Chocolate Session that focuses on their haunted history and finishes off with a sweet hands-on demo experience. They cover real-life unexplained events and mysterious historical facts. The session is rated PG. Mature kids are welcome to join the group, under their guardians’ discretion.
You will receive first-hand accounts of some creepy happenings combined with the sometimes mysterious, sometimes tragic history of their very old building and grounds. After we’ve covered the paranormal, you’ll do a chocolate demo where you’ll be able to make your own chocolate ghost to enjoy on the spot or to take home with you. This one-hour creepy session is for small groups of 4 to 10.
Call Barkeater Chocolates at 518-251-4438 to schedule your haunted session today! The cost is $20 per person and reservations are required.
North Creek Union Cemetery
This beautifully maintained cemetery on the edge of town is unique in its layout. Built directly into the hillside, following the natural slope of the earth, newly crafted headstones crop up alongside century’s old epitaphs.
In September, Union is home to GEM Radio Theatre’s annual cemetery walks where costumed actors portray voices from beyond the grave. A resident of note, Mary Persons, resides in a glass coffin within an impressive stone mausoleum atop the cemetery’s hill, towering over all the other graves, so nobody can look down on her as she feels they did in life.
You cannot enter the mausoleum, however, for after she was laid to rest the door was locked and the key was purposely dropped down an air vent!
Year-round the grounds are a place for quiet reflection, a gorgeous view of the Adirondack Mountains, and the feeling that you are not alone.
